Our Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the installation and termination of structured cabling systems across Ideaworks projects.
This position requires knowledge of the practical installation methods of racks, headends, displays and room end equipment. More predominantly the position requires knowledge of infrastructure cabling, termination and certification of copper and fibre.
Ideaworks design, install AV, IT, Lighting, Shading and Satcoms. What we do constantly evolves as new technology is released; this keeps it exciting and challenging but always amazing. This is a full-time position, which includes working abroad. Lots of frequent travel into Europe. EU passport would be ideal but not essential. Most work is performed Monday to Friday with occasional overtime.
Job role:
- Read, understand, and interpret the schematics and construction drawings.
- Ensuring the delivery of equipment, consumables, and tools for assigned projects.
- Installation and termination of structured cabling systems.
- Installation and termination of headends and room end position types.
- Knowledge and understanding of cable certification for both copper and fibre installations.
- Knowledge and understanding of cable troubleshooting and fault location.
Additional Tasks:
- Maintain communication with team leaders on the status of projects and task lists.
- Maintain accurate up to date information regarding installation of equipment and termination.
- Liaise with other internal departments and project contractors.
- To inform the project team of any changes regarding the project
Skills and Experience:
- Strong background knowledge of infrastructure wiring.
- Knowledge of cable terminations, including Cat, Fibre, Coax, Speaker, Audio.
- Knowledge of cable certification for both Cat and Fibre.
- The ability to work in the UK and EU. EU passport is preferable.
- 3 -5 years Experience of working on large scale marine or residential projects AV/IT projects.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- The ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
- Excellent attention to detail, with good organisation and planning skills.
- Qualifications in cabling infrastructure is preferable.
- ECS card or similar.
- Full Driving Licence.
