We are an international company with many offices and lots of people on sites delivering amazing homes or yachts for our clients. This means we have to work hard to ensure we remain connected as a family and collaborate for the benefit of ourselves and our clients. We invest heavily in collaboration tools and ai (amazing inside) is our internal intranet; the heartbeat of the company.
In the loop
When new employees join Ideaworks, they are always astounded by how much information is available to all. Details of new projects that are coming up, how the company is performing, promotions and new joiners and so much more, it’s all available in the News channel on our intranet. We passionately believe that no matter what role you take or how junior you are, you deserve to be kept in the loop and feel secure about your future.
I joined Ideaworks in 2011 into the first of my many “write your own job description” roles. I have a habit of sticking my hand up when there is something to be done and so have worked with the Sales Team, the Finance Team, have assumed the title of Quality Manager and become a super-user of our intranet system. I am currently Head of People, Development and Operations looking after both new and existing staff, many of whom have been here for most of their working lives.

Sharing knowledge
We recognise that when a client employs us, they expect to benefit from the knowledge we have gained over the last three decades, not just the knowledge of their appointed team. Our central shared knowledge base provides a simply enormous wealth of information. All the articles are approved by a topic expert, but they are actually created by anyone in the company who wants to share their experiences.

From the first day of joining, trying to work out ‘who’s who’, to arranging the next lunchtime run, our internal communication is an opportunity to share and interact socially; a private social network just like Facebook but with fewer pictures of cats!
