we are innovators
We have always been innovators, both for our clients and for ourselves. Yes, we do use off the shelf products when appropriate but we frequently can’t help ourselves and get crafty with bespoke solutions and products. If it doesn’t exist – lets invent it!
Research & Development
As the only company in our industry with a dedicated R&D team that both create our own products as well as explore and test new products, you can be reassured that you will be supported. You will also have access to some of the best tech in the industry to satisfy your inner geek.
I joined Ideaworks in 1993 on Student placement for a year, before returning to Brunel University to complete my Industrial Design degree. I returned in 1994 to start a full time role as CAD designer, joining the four man company based in a small industrial unit a few miles from my home.
Thirty years on I am now an Associate, managing a team of designers and project managers out of our London design Office. It has been an amazing adventure to be involved with the evolution of Ideaworks from the four people I joined, to the 165 I am very proud to be colleagues with now.
If you are looking for a dynamic company that challenges itself and you to grow and adapt, then Ideaworks is the company for you.

Invention
With eight graduate product designers and some serious technical support, invention comes as second nature to us. We were inventing bespoke metalwork racks before Middle Atlantic came to these shores. We invented our own lighting control system before we adopted Lutron and Crestron and we have of course invented our own control system. This inventive streak continues internally as we invent our own ERP system, remote client support system and almost everything else in between. Come and be inventive with us!
Perfection
“That will do” does not exist. If you have ever been left frustrated that you did not have the time to do the right thing or that you were not given sufficient training: You need to join Ideaworks. Corners are never cut, “good enough” is never good enough. We’re perfectionists: it’s no good if it’s not precise. We don’t do guesswork or ‘that’ll do’ – we take care of the details to the Nth degree.
