Infrastructure engineers are responsible for the installation and termination of structured cabling systems across Ideaworks projects.
This position requires knowledge of the practical installation methods of racks, headends, displays, and room end equipment. You will need knowledge of infrastructure cabling, termination, and basic testing of copper and fibre.
This role will at times involve regular work abroad, this might be for up to ten days at a time.

Job role:
- Read, understand, and interpret the schematics and construction drawings and System Explorer.
- Ensuring the delivery of equipment, consumables, and tools for assigned projects.
- Installation and termination of structured cabling systems.
- Installation and termination of headends and room end position types.
- Knowledge and understanding of cable troubleshooting and fault location.
Additional Tasks:
- Maintain communication with team leaders on the status of projects and task lists.
- Maintain accurate up to date information regarding installation of equipment and termination.
- Liaise with other internal departments and project contractors.
- To inform the project team of any changes regarding the project
Skills and Experience:
- Be competent in the use of power tools, ladders, and other access equipment to complete infrastructure and installation tasks.
- Have a good understanding of isolating cabling faults on copper and fibre installations using the visual fault locator and LAN toner and probe.
- A ‘can do’ attitude and willingness to go above and beyond to get a job done right.
- Be efficient, hardworking, and able to stay calm under pressure.
